This piece was almost a decade in the making with the background taking form circa 2014 as a study in letting the paint take me where it wanted. The “dark mark” was imprinted over it in 2024. Despite the non-literal interpretation of the dark mark, it was a fitting subject to overlay the dark swampy vibes of the background.
